Greater Accra Region
Dear Sir,
ACUTE SHORTAGE OF WATER
I write in relation to the acute shortage of water that has recently hit the Ga West District, our district. The problem is very serious.
For some time now, water has been hard to come by. The taps are not flowing and even the streams and river bodies that we could have relied on as alternative sources of sources have also dried up. It is for that reason, that I write to you, on my behalf and that of countless others, as the chief executive of our great district.
The spillover effect of this acute water shortage in our district cannot be taken for granted. Water, as we all know is life. We use it for cooking and drinking. Aside that, companies in our district in the business of producing beverage and other essential commodities rely on that precious substance to manufacture the products that keep our local economy "buzzing".
Dear sir, in view of the above, I wish to humbly entreat you that, as a matter of urgency, something be quickly done about the situation. With your kind permission, may I make some few suggestions.
First, I will like to suggest that, for now, let bore-holes be drilled in strategic locations across the district to supply much needed water to community members. Secondly, let water storage tanks be provided for those locations to store water. Thirdly, a campaign should be launched to dissuade people in the district from dumping refuse in water bodies.
Dear Sir, I am confident, with your help and leadership, this acute water shortage in our district, would soon be a thing of the past.
We look forward to a quick resolution of the matter.
Many thanks.
Yours faithfully,
Yaw Mintah Amadu.
