BDT Syllabus for JHS

 A subject called Design and Technology combines the components of the previous Pre-Technical Skills and Pre-vocational Skills courses into a single course. Design is a process that includes problem identification, investigation of potential solutions, pre-imaging or picturing the solution, sketching the answer, and creation of the artifact or product that addresses the original problem. 

Using materials, tools, and processes to make a product that meets a need, or a problem is what technology, on the other hand, implies. The goal of combining pre-technical and pre-vocational skills is to teach students how to identify problems, use design approaches like drawing, free-hand sketching, and color work to create a product, and then choose the right tools and materials to create the product or artifact. 

Home Economics, Visual Arts, and Pre-Technical Skills are the three vocational alternatives that Basic Design and Technology teaches the application of. It borrows the design ideas and procedures from Pre-Technical Skills and Pre-Vocational Skills. 

The goal of the subject is to develop persons who are adaptable, innovative, and capable of fusing and utilizing a variety of knowledge and skills in product development.

Core Skills and Options are the two sections that make up the subject. Studying Graphic Communication, Basic Life Skills, Problem Identification and Idea Development, Entrepreneurial Skills are all part of the Core Skills, and Design.

If a student chooses one of the three alternatives, they will be asked to complete a project utilizing appropriate procedures and a range of supplies and tools to create the final result. 

Entrepreneurial skills and an introduction to the workplace are included in the fundamental information and abilities that students should possess before completing this level of education because the majority of students who enter junior high school may end their formal education at this level.
