What Is Eternity?
What is eternity?
A thousand years? A million years? A
billion years?
No, it is none of the above. Eternity means
forever, everlasting - lasting ever more, never getting finished. To clearly
picture eternity, let's use Mount Everest as an example - the tallest mountain
in the whole wide world and by extension the "hugest"! Assuming a
bird comes EVERY THOUSAND YEARS to pick a SINGLE GRAIN of sand from this
gargantuan mountain, how long do you suppose it would take for all these grains of sand that make up the mountain to be removed such
that Mt. Everest ceases to exist?
Innumerable number of years, eh? That is
what eternity is all about. Where would you spend yours? Let's take a moment to
think about this?
This is not a funny
matter at all; and it would especially not be so when that day comes when we
are surrounded by our children, grandchildren and hopefully great grandchildren
and we are about to die - leave our body for eternity...WHERE WOULD YOU BE SPENDING
IT? Hell or Heaven?
The God-man Jesus offers
a way out. He says if you'd receive him into your heart by confessing him as
Lord and believe that He died and rose again from the dead for you, your
eternity with him in heaven would be assured. You don't have to pay anything.
It's FREE! Isn't that wonderful? Only receive Him. I pray you do.
So after I have received
Jesus into my heart and now I am saved or born-again, what would I be doing in
eternity when I get there, you may ask?
Well, I have one answer for
you. I am sure there are many more.
Together, with you,
hopefully WE WILL BE DISCOVERING THE UNIVERSE AND RULING IT WITH CHRIST.
Hallelujah!
